Project Description: |
The basins S-9 and S-10 Stormwater Management and West C-11 Canal Water Quality Improvement Program consists of a series of improvements that satisfy environmental, surface water restoration and stormwater management laws and requirements. The project will cnsist of construction of stormwater control structures, construction of drainage culverts, improvements to canal maintenance easements, removal of exotic nuisance trees, planting of naitive trees to replace those removed from the easement, construction of fences and gates, and public education related to runoff from nurseries and livestock areas. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
These improvements will eliminate discharge into a section of the C-11 Canal that is desingnated by the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan to be free of direct urban run-off. The prosposed stormwater control structures will control water elevations and discharge rates of the canals, decreased erosion and more consistent ground water elevations. |
