| The elimination of the Independant Living Program by the DJJ will have a severe impact on the issue of public safety in communities that have large populations of youth under the supervision of the department who are homeless and/or whose home environment supervision is inappropriate by continuing to fund independent living, more youths will have an opportunity to remain out of the Criminal Justice system thus protecting our citizens. | |||||||||

| The "In the Flow" Independent Living Program is designated to provide 10 beds for male youth released from DJJ residential programs who are homeless who permanent home is inappropriate due to a dysfunctional family environment and/or youth who are under the supervision of the department who identified as needing the program services. The following is a few of the services provided by the program; residential Services;life skills;Career and Job Development;Mental Health and Counseling services; Health services; Substance Abuse Education;Case Management;Afetcare and Conditional release | |||||||||
