| This funding will provide for a second campus of the Academy for Community Education(ACE). ACE provides educational programming during school hours to specifically meet the needs of minority students. ACE was established in 1980 by Dr. Dunn, Chairperson of the Dep't of Psychology at FIU. It works with minority students who have not reached their potential in a traditional school setting. ACE has achieved an impressive record of remediating at-risk students who have failed the FCAT. Funds are being sought from other sources. The dollar amount shown requested is also being used as the total project cost because of lack of time. | |||||||||
