Project Description: |

||
Restoration of an 111 year old historic lighthouse in Pinellas County which was the navigational marker for the Tarpon Springs sponge harvesters. The 19th century lighthouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is in need of major repair. First year budget request provides for stabilization of existing facility to prevent degradation. |

It is too late restore the original lighthouse keeper's quarters, boathouse and other support facilities, but is not too late to preserve this metal structure and the history that surrounds. |

By restoring this lighthouse , you will eliminate the vandalism and destruction of a historic place, provide a safe and clean environment for residents and tourists to visit and, potentially increase the number of visitors to a Florida State Park. |
