Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Clearwater Brownfield Area currently has a total of 217 regulatory listed sites within its boundaries.  Approximately 100 of these sites have reported contamination.  Additionally, the City has automotive salvage yards located in the Community Redevelopment Area and along the Stevenson Creek Estuary that will ultimately require assessment and remediation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

Remediation funding is a necessity in order to return  environmentally impaired properties to productive reuse as viable economic and community development projects in Clearwater and throughout the state.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Creation of jobs and removal of potential health threats within low income minority communities.  Increased tax base.
