Project Description:
To continue to fund program for children, aged 5-12, with severe autism or related disorders. This program has been funded in 1997-1998 (2,000,000), 1998-1999 (2,000,000) and 1999-2000 (2,100,000). The TIP is being relocated from the Baudin Oral School at Nova/Southeastern University to ARC Broward.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Intensive therapeutic and behavioral intervention for the children in the program, pre-service training for professionals of various disciplines who deal with these children, family training and support, and a research component are all services to be provided by TIP. The State benefits by families being able to keep children in the home and professionals can meet their needs in other settings, such as the classroom.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Increase in skill aquisition, decrease in maladaptive behaviors, and increase in maintenance of family integrity.
