Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To bring Broward County funding for primary care services to the state average.  Currently Broward County receives $.69 per capita compared to the statewide average of $1.46 per capita.  Current allocation to Broward County Health Department is $1,006,202.  This amount has decreased from the original funding in 1984 (the program's inception date) of $1,419,950.  The need in Broward County has greatly increased in the past 16 years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

Traditional primary care services would be provided to eligible residents.  The State would benefit from reduced expenses for emergency room services and other high cost treatment which would be necessary in absence of primary care services.
