Project Description:
ARISE Secrets of Success ia an award-winning juvenile prevention and intervention program, consisting of an in depth series of interactive courses in life management skills. Specifically desiged for at risk youth, ages 12-18, in secure juvenile facilities. Program encourages youth to stay in school, respect society and self.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
statewide initiative to partner with DJJ facilities, non-residential programs, diversion programs, Juvenile Assessment Centers, after care and probation programs. ARISE will provide life skill program material, and monitor programs through visitation, checking truancy and recidivism rates, providing pre/post testing.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
truancy rates reduced, youth will significantly imporve their perceptions about violence reduction, anger management, the effects of drug & alcohol abuse, the importance of staying in school, avoiding gangs, self respect and more -- reduction in recidivism rates, reduction in the amount of incidences of disruptive and violent behavior
