Project Description:

This project is to develop Florida's first comprehensive travel guide specifically for information about the accessability of lodging and tourist attractions in Florida for persons with disabilities and to utilize an established network of tourism agencies to dispense information to people inquiring about travel to and within Florida.  The guide will be divided into established state tourism regions.  The availability of such information will be an incentive for people with disabilities to travel to and within Florida.

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

Information about accessability of lodging (hotels, bed and breakfasts, etc.) and tourist attractions throughout Florida will be provided by existing Florida tourism structure (Visit Florida, Visitors and Convention Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, etc.)  The state will benefit from increased tourist tax revenues and more money spent throughout the state.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

People with disabilities traveling to and within Florida will indicate a high degree of satisfaction with their lodging arrangements and with the tourist attractions they visited because they were able to ensure their disabilities would be properly accommodated.  Increases in tourism revenues will be attributable to increased numbers of tourists/visitors with disabilties.
