Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Collaborative effort by City of Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, St. Lucie School Board, Ft. Pierce Housing Authority, Boys and Girls Club and Indian River Community College to construct a 38,000 sf facility to serve St. Lucie County and surrounding areas. 50% of inner city Ft. Pierce residents are defined as within 150% of poverty.  75% of students receive free lunch.  In area of proposed site, 1 out of 7 has not completed 8th grade and 1 out of 4 do not have high school diploma.  Per capita income for inner city Ft. Pierce is 32% below state average.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

Adult education, English as a second language, computer training, business and entrepreneurial instruction, mentoring, office skill training and tutoring, parenting skills, childcare, dance/drama, arts and crafts, physical fitness, financial planning,after school programs, cultural and heritage programs, meeting rooms, multi purpose rooms, auditorium, gymnasiam, computer labs, dining room with kitchen, outdoor recreational facilities.
