Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Construction of boat dockage facility for extension of research, education and collaborative studies of Florida's coastal waters. Construction of dock, provision of utilities, stabilization of an access and service roadway.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

Facility will serve students and researchers from around the state (and world) who use this prime location for reserach studies of Florida's marine resources and biodivirsity.  Will provide information and a management tool for the entire state.  Research on the documentation and preservation of south Florida's marine biodiversity, emphasizing studies of the Indian River Lagoon and coastal waters of the Treasure Coast, with comparative studies covering the entire coast of the Florida Peninsula.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Expanded program of reserach in marine sciences, training of graduate students and psotdoctoral fellows.  Increased research, educational and public partnerships.  Contribution of knowledge of Florida's marine resources.
