Project Description:
Lynn Haven library currently has an out of date computer circulation/cataloguing system that cannot be hooked up to the world wide web and is not fully Year 2000 compliant. The computer software and hardware proposed via this budget request will provide a year 2000 compliant integrated computer system that is designed for internet linking with other libraries and individual users.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The proposed system would allow linking Lynn Haven Library to the Bay County Library system and allow other libraries and individuals to access its collection via the internet. This will improve the research and information capabilities of the community along with efficiencies of the library staff. Linking libraries and individuals via the internet would provide a major increase in productivity for research and education.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The number of library patrons and other linked libraries accessing the Lynn Haven Library's collection and information services can be documented by the number and duration of visits to the library's web page which will be implemented as part of this project.
