Project Description:
Construction of a 5,250 square foot "Adult Day Services Health Center" in Largo (Pinellas County). The facility will serve approximately 35-50 elderly at-risk clients per day. This project is designed to mitigate problems resulting from a forced relocation from a Largo facility wherein services were being provided to said clients for 25 years. Currently, said clients are temporarily being treated at a facility in Clearwater not equipped to handle the additional patient load, resulting in long waits and further travel for Largo clients who have chronic, serious medical conditions and are unable to travel the necessary distance for treatment.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Long-term cost savings to the state via Neighborly Senior Services' prevention of higher-cost institutional placement of elderly clients.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
There is expected to be an immediate reduction in waiting lists for treatment at the Clearwater facility resulting in increased patient care, service and quality of life. Provision of adult day care services to at least 35 clients daily will alleviate the case load at the Clearwater facility.
