Project Description:
Under this education and community outreach program, the Academy at Ballet Florida trains over 400 budding youth dance students, aged 8 through 17. Of these students, 70 are provided full scholarships based on need and promise - includeing full tuition, clothing, transportation, etc. Also included are Visions in Movement students - blind and sight impaired who require additional special instruction.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Through tuition scholarships, at-risk and economically disadvantaged youths are given the opportunties to learn dance, be exposed to the arts and thereby develop self-confidence and self-respect. The societal benefits of this program are immeasurable.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
With this funding, an additional 50 to 60 young people will be able to attend classes at the Academy of Ballet Florida.
