Project Description:
A complex with varied and diverse sensory zones which will provide opportunities for our students to discover, explore, and stimulate the entire spectrum of their sensory and motor skills in a motivating and non-threatening environment.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Will increase student opportunities to develop many skills (including, but not limited to communication, motor, and leisure) which will translate into increase participation in the community. Will give opportunities for others to share sensory experiences with our students such as: Alzhiemer patients and appropriate outside agencies to utilize the sensory (Snoezelen) environment. in addition, the complex could become a site for the district Special Olympic games.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Unlimited possibilities for improvement in the quality of life for all participants.
