Project Description:
Local grassroots economic development including business attraction, expansion and retention, business development and assistance and the creation of an environment which improves the quality of life for residents and enhances the general productivity of the area. These tasks are accomplished through aggressive marketing promoting both the area and the State Enterprise Zone, creation of a commercial property data base in order to link available sites with perspective businesses, business expansion workshops, assistance and consultation of Enterprise Zone qualification, production of a monthly newsletter and acting as a liaison between the County and the community for local economic development efforts.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Promotion of the State Enterprise Zone increase in sales tax revenue, increase in utility taxes including a general increase in Corporate Income tax generated from successfully retaining and expanding local businesses.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The recruitment of five new businesses to the area, four business assistance/expansion seminars, visitation and assistance to 150 businesses a year, facilitate and creation of the commercial property database.
