The Florida Community Health Protection Act of 1999 established a pilot project in Broward County for the communities surrounding the Miles Health Center in Fort Lauderdale. The purpose of the project, for which funding is sought, is to promote disease prevention and health promotion among the low-income persons living in that area and to eliminate disease disparity so that the low-income persons can participate in economic, environmental and health revitalization of the area. |
