Project Description:
Removal of old ash landfill from the shore of the Pelican River and Lake Okeechobee. The City operated incinerators but was required by State Regulators to close them down and utilize the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority Services. The city cannot continue to maintain this ashfill and by removal it will no longer be a problem to the environmental System

Provides for long term protection of waters of the Pelican River and Lake Okeechobee and eventually the entire Everglades Ecosystem

Reduce threat to DEP 303(d)list and timetable for completion
