Services Provided/Benefit to State: |
This project would address the need of the changing demographics of the Lauderhill geographic area which has experienced a documented increase in the number of emergency cases requiring medical intervention for heart problems. The installation of defribulators in police vehicles would be of direct benefit because police are often the first emergency response to accidents or other situations that require the use of a defribulator to maintain life. The city's population of 51,000 has as one of its largest identifiable demographic groups senior citizens, numbering some 17,000. These persons are expected to be the most needy of the services provided in this project. |
