This initiative will promote community development through partnerships with community and faith-based organizations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

The purpose of this initiative is to provide partnerships with community and faith-based organizations to promote community development in low-income communities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

(a)  Professional skill development ? creation and operation of training programs to enhance the professional skills of individuals working within community and faith-based organizations.

 

            (b) Development of future leaders ? internship programs will be established for graduate students within community and faith-based organizations and stipends will be awarded in form of assistantships.

 

            (c) Promotion of a "Best Practices" Annual Conference for community and faith-based organizations to discuss and share information on issues relating to the creation, operation, and sustainability of community and faith-based organizations.

 

            (d) Establishment of research opportunities on economic, operational, and policy issues that relate to community development.
