Project Description:

Here's Help, Inc. is a cost effective comprehensive drug/alcohol treatment agency, needing funding for various projects to upgrade building and property, with emphasis on the need to maintain a healthy and safe environment for our clients.  Our main facility, where the majority of the therapy is conducted, is over 40 years old and has recently been subject to a 40-year insoection by Miami-Dade County.  The inspection revealed that the structure is sound, but there are many safety and health issues to be considered.  It is necessary to upgrade every source of potential hazard to avoid dangerous situations and maintain a healthy environment for our clients.

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

By providing a more condusive, safe and healthy environment for our clients to live, learn and receive therapy, we will achieve even greater success in returning clients to their respective communities as productive drug-free citizens of the State of Florida.  This means we will have safer neighborhoods with less crime.  The Governor's proposed Florida Drug Control Strategy, has targeted Juvenile Offenders as one area of concern. Here's Help has already targeted Juvenile Offenders since the day we opened our doors.  Our goal is to break the cycle of substance abuse and crime amoung our youths.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

By the State funding our project and making our facilities healthier, safer, and more condusive to treatment, our positive outcomes with our clients will be enhanced. Our 5 anticipated outcomes are:(1) The year following completion of the project will show a 5% higher successful completion rate in our residential and oout patient programming (2) Client satisfaction survey results 5% higher on overall approval of the program;(3) 5%greater "no drug or alcohol" use status 90-days after treatment; (4) 5%improvement in the number of former clients employed 90-days after the treatment; and (5) 5% reduction in the number of clients arrested 90-days after treatment. (Numbers 3,4, and 5 reflect follow-up studies on all clients that leave the program.
