Services Provided/Benefit to State: |
A). 65,015.83 for the re-design of the existing covered walkway between the two buildings which did not meet the current ASCE 77 requirements. This way a very labor and cost intensive undertaking, involving special DOT permitting to allow for barricading of the West Flagler sidewalks, in addition in allowing the use of high-reach lifts. B). $1,122.39 for bringing up to code the existing roll-up door at the Administrative Building, which was blocked up with CMU, not meeting code requirements. This was more cost efficient than replacing the door. C).$5,342.90 for the type of window we were required to use in order to meet both the specialized CSU requirements and the Building Code criteria. D). $29,886.00 for expenses related to the installation of the elevator. When the roof was penetrated the decking had to be reinforced to meet current codes and the entire roof replaced. E). $12,000.00 for the added cost related to code required changes between storefront doors, regular doors, hardware, tie-downs, strapping and other requirements. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
To provide the required conditions to protect human life, property and equipment during a natural disaster such as a hurricane. In case of such emergency, our clients can remain in our facility, which is extremely important since the population we served can not evacuate to regular or special shelters. |
