Project Description:

Construction of a 23,000 square foot facility to primarily service Palm Beach County residents who are suffering from Alzheimer's disease, are physically challenged or are frail-elderly.  Additional programs will be offered for the large elderly population in our area.  With care, campassion and comfort as primary objectives, the Levis Alzheimer's Adult Day Care Center program staff will help clients maintain maximum independence through specialized, structured, therapeutic activities that stimulate their ability to function while recognizing their limitations.

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

Adult day care allows an older adult to live at home or with loved ones for as long as possible while receiving health, socialization, recreational and/or rehabilitative services within a congregate setting.  It is more cost-effective than in-home care and nursing home placements.  The average cost of a day at an adult day center is often much less than a visit from a home health nurse and a fraction of the cost of skilled nursing facility care.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The goal of our facility is to keep older adults in their homes as long as possible and forestall the need for institutionalization.  By providing a continuum of service for the well elderly to the more infirmed elderly, we offer the widest range of services for older adults.
