Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A pilot project to determine feasibility for utilizing hands-on demonstration gardens developed on a backyard scale to teach region specific best practice environmental standards to the public with emphasis on a target population of those residents new to this region of the United States.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

To meet an educational need in an area where 93% of the residents are new to this region and unfamiliar with environmentally safe horticultural practices and standards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

To increase knowledge and promote practice changes in order to best utilize and protect the existing resources in Southwest Florida.
