Project Description:
To identify detainees with mental illness early in the process and provide intensive mental health case management in the Broward County jail.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Clinical social workers or licensed mental health counselors will be utilized to provide treatment, program and case management services. Staff will provide a comprehensive array of services ranging from screening and assessment, therapeutic programming, release planning and follow-up.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
A lower rate of re-imprisonment by inmate who have obtained these services.
