Project Description:
Funds provided will be used to aid at-risk and delinquent youth to acquire technical skills in the areas of computer literacy and television and film production. The youth will be instructed and mentored by professionals who will assist them in finding success in the industry or motivate them to enter college.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Providing a safe atmosphere where children can learn skills such as TV and film production, video, still photography, graphics, environmental education, language arts, fashion and set design. Since 1994, The Children's Coalition, Inc. has introduced almost 3,000 children to our arts-to-education progam and has completed projects with children in programs from the Florida Keys, Broward County and Palm Beach County. These children have proven to be some of the most disadvantaged and unwanted children anyone has ever chosen to work with in our society. We make this point because we realize that we are the only entity willing to work with these troubled children in multimedia with professional equipment. These are children who have been directed to alternative education schools, children's shelters or juvenile justice leveled programs, two through eight. The majority of these children have been abused, abandoned and neglected and exposed to drugs, rape and violent crime from an early age.

Our basic mission and goal is to see children finish school through college, find employment and never enter or return into the system.
