Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Obtain, transport, and distribute an additional 2,725,000 pounds of food product for food emergencies that exist in Florida with funds used primarily for transportation, storage, and limited processing; 20% targeted to be distributed to rural areas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

To assure there are adequate food supplies available to supplement Florida's indigent children, families, and elderly; to ensure that available food surpluses will potentially reach every community in the State of Florida where there is emergency need.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

To obtain and transport an additional 7,000,000 pounds with a wholesale value of $10,640,000 of food for emergency distribution with 20% of the allocation dedicated to transporting and distributing food in rural areas.
