Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Operational dollars for the Center for Infant and Child Development. The center will serve as a major site for the advancement of scientific knowledge and professional/public understanding of how brain development affects the behavior of infants and children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

It is envisioned that the Center will become nationally recognized for excellence in the emerging field of developmental neuroscience.  The Center will be a major site for graduate education in neuroscience, psychology, education, speech and language, physical therapy, and public health. The Center will address developmental events leading to areas including the early neursensory developmental processes of preterm infants, Down's Syndrome and related genetic disorders, the neurochemistry/neuropharmacology of Terrett's Syndrome, ADHD, specific learning disabilities, and language disorders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

The Center will maintain an active program of professional and community education and outreach to bring the results of the research to the professionals and families of children with developmental problems.
