Project Description:
Multipurpose meeting room that will accomodate 150-200 persons w/ public restrooms and storage space.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Provide a central location to accomodate large audiences for educational meetings held on a regional basis. Reduce travel time for state specialists, county and district extension agents, and residents of surrounding counties. Use of the facilities would be optimized, including satellite downlink, video production, copying and duplicating equipment, and the use of support staff.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
There would be an increased capacity to accomodate more meetings and larger groups and occasions at a centralized location for the region. It would provide a meeting room to be utilized by Extension Agents at the Hillsborough County Office along with University of Florida/IFAS State Specialists to conduct county, district and statewide educational programs. Five hundred and twenty-five (525) organizations would utilize this facility, which would include: Hillsborough County Bee Keepers, Citrus Advisory Council, Strawberry Growers, FL Nursery Growers, FL Dept. of Agriculture, USDA, Farm Bureau, Family and Community Educators, Tampa Bay Home Builders, Tampa Bay Wholesale Growers, Hillsborough Head Start, Hunger Coalition, Project Greenhouse, Hillsborough County Fair, nutrition education training, Pesticide Applicators, Dairy Advisory, Tree and Landscape Advisory Commission.
