Project Description:
In response to the "1998 Community Health Needs Assessment," Bay County is seeking funding assistance for the creation of a Coummunity Health Task Force Coordinator. The position would be responsible for coordinating the efforts of Bay, Gulf and Franklin counties to address the priority issues identified by the needs assessment. A sampling of the priorities include: teen pregnancy and educatinal-related issues; nutrition; diabetes care; and, inadequte life skills education.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The coordinated effort to improve health care education and services in this region would benefit the state through the potential reduction in Medicaid expenditures in the area.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Better health care education and services should lead to reduced health care expenditures.
