Project Description:
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is the only hospital in Florida dedicated to women and children. Arnold Palmer Hospital manages several programs that help in the development and growth of children of all ages. One such program is the Developmental Center for Infants & Children. The Developmental Center has been the lead agency for the Statewide Early Intervention program in Orange, Osceola & Seminole Counties since the inception of Part C in 1994.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The Center provides screening and evaluation; service coordination and early intervention for developmentally delayed infants and toddlers.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The funding will permit the caseworker to effectively support families through the Family Care Advocate Program. The Family Care Advocate Program meets the needs of families who face poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, teenage single-parenthood, low maternal educational level and other factors that make it exceedingly difficult for the family to attend to a child's medical and developmental needs.
