The Panhandle Area Education Consortium plans to establish a professional staff-development academy using the best technology and instructors available to provide Florida's smaller and rural counties with instant staff development training through its instructional television system. The project would also include the existing television system to link instructional broadcast facilities with presently unreached schools statewide. With more than 30 years experience in staff development, PAEC would be able to support a statewide system for in-service professional development that provides a wide range of targeted in-service training to teachers and administrators. |

The professional staff development will be designed to upgrade skills and knowledge needed to reach world class standards for small and rural school districts in Florida. By funding this request, Florida can be a leader in raising student achievement through teaching technology literacy and increasing teacher competencies by providing world-class staff development. |
