Project Description:
To provide 2 staff people to work on assistive technology warranty legislative mandate.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
To register those entities subject to the act as amended; to mediate complaints received, investigate and impose remedies for non-compliance with the Assistive Technology Warranty Act as necessary. Protect disabled Florida consumers by ensuring compliance with the Act and provide information to Florida consumers about the provisions of the Act and their rights and responsibilities under the Act.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Disabled Florida consumers are protected from unethical business practices by regulation (including registration, investigation of complaints and enforcement) of the entities subject to the act as amended and consumers have a venue for disputes arising under the Act. Informed consumers are better able to protect themselves from unlawful business practices.
