Project Description: |
Level 1 trauma centers offer the most sophisicated, life-saving, emergency services on a 7 day per week, 24 hours per day to residents and tourists of Florida. 1990 documentation shows that 4 of the 6 level 1 trauma centers had operational deficits. $3,000,000 was appropriated last year and requested to be funded again by the Department of Health. This request is for an additional $7,000,000. |

The 6 Level 1 trauma centers have provided these most sophisicated, life-saving, emergency services to over 16,000 trauma victims per year. People served in trauma centers have less need of high-cost after care treatment than those patients not served in level 1 trauma centers. |
