Project Description:
SB 272 creates the Office of Disability Coordination (Office). This Office will promote communication, coordination and collaboration between the 11 state entities which deal with people with disabilities. It will also provide a place for the Legislature and interested parties to get complete information about services and costs of services ptovided to this population. This bill is still a "work in progress" and things may change that effect this request.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Service delivery will not change by the creation of the Office at the outset. It is hoped that intake procedures, service delivery and outcome measures will be streamlined and be consistant throughout the state. This Office will also have the ability to give the Legislature and other interested parties complete information concerning activities and costs of same for this population. This cannot be done now. This Office expands on the work started by Workforce Development by combining information from separate state entities into one computer generated response.
