Project Description:
Construction of a new agriculture center
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Cluster Springs is a predominately rural, farming community in north Walton County. Due to the remoteness of the area, there is a need for a facility for continuing education in agribusiness and farming techniques. The facility would also provide opportunities for the Extension Service and area 4H Clubs to hold educational and training activites and events which would benefit the entire community, in particular youths who are now having to travel to other counties to paricipate in these types of programs. The site is a 60 acre tract which would provide an important greenway hub for avid horseback riders. Recent hurricane and storm events have brought to light the lack of adequate areas for animal shelters which are vitally important in rural areas. the new facility at cluster Springs will be designted as hurricane shelter for farm animals.
