Project Description: |
Operating in coordination with the Florida Department of Education, Intellectual Development Systems will contract with at least (30) Florida schools to install its congnitive development system in each of those schools. This system will enable school personnel to identify and remedy at the earliest possible moment learning impediments, cognitive or perceptual, which impair an individual student's ability to adequately perform in class. |

Services Provided/Benefit to State: |
Services include complete training of designated school personnel, equipment required to implement the assessment and learning development exercises in each school, relevant software, regular on-site visits/monitoring, all materials, and 1-800 and on-line support. This project demonstrates the educational value to enable Florida schools to provide their students a learning enhancement system which combines rigorous assessment with assessment-derived, individually prescribed cognitive and perceptual system development programs. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
Student who are able to complete the prescribed learning development program will, by the second year, gain higher levels of academic achievement, as measured by standardized tests, and improved intellectual functioning, as measured by intelligence tests. The schools will experience reduced levels of behavioral referrals on the part of recipient students as well as reduced demand for other (often more expensive) interventions. |
