Project Description:
This association provides a valuable service to Florida's communities by acquiring, transporting, inspecting, warehousing, and maintaining food that is made available to agencies helping out state's needy children and families. The requested approriation will be used to assist with food transportation and delivery requirements.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
This program will assist in distributing food to provide millions of meals (31 million last year) to hungry Floridians, providing a wide variety of nutritious food products critical in the support of low-income families, the unemployed, the elderly, and children. The funds noted in the Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services Budget for this project will assist Florida Association of Food Banks to bring additional doos into Florida which will provide 10,000 more meals to our needy residents.
