Project Description:

Relocation of the Mildred Pepper Senior Center to a new facility within a minimum of 10,00 square feet.  A site to be selected located within either sub-area 5 or sub-area 7, in the general Southwest, Westchester, North Kendall area, west of the Palmetto expressway.  The new facility will have better accommodations for improved ventilation, comfort and offer better accessibility to program participants.  A building of 10,000 square feet will give the center a capacity of 500-600 persons.  Moreover, there will be sufficient space to expand the Adult Day Health Care Center to house waiting list clients, who are frail and in need for specialized care.  Adequate handicapped parking will also be available for center participants.  Additionally, the site could possibly house a Rainbow Intergenerational Child Day Care Center, targeting low-income, working poor families with children 2-5 years of age.
