The Corporate Aviation Terminal Complex will serve as a gateway for the corporate executives of companies that locate in the 400-acre Space Commerce Park and 100,000 spuare foot Space Experiment Research and Processing Laboratory (SERPL) currently under construction at the Kennedy Space Center. For Florida to achieve its goal of becoming the home State of the Number One Global Commercial Aerospace Launch/Research Complex, it must have nearby access to up-to-date, competent corporate aviation products and services. The Corporate Aviation Terminal Complex to be built at Space Coast Regional Airport will enhance Florida's economic growth and competitiveness.

Project Description:

This project compromises Phase One of the Corporate Aviation Terminal Complex at Space Coast Regional Airport. It incorporates the Corporate Aviation Terminal building, including the utilities, fixtures and furniture required for the public areas, public meeting rooms, and Airport Authority offices; a concrete apron designated to accomodate large corporate jets, such as the Gulfstream 4; a roadway with landscaped circular drive in front of the terminal building; and the required vehicular parking spaces.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

We conservatively estimate that 27 new direct employees will be required at start up in support of the new corporate aviation terminal; these will include Fixed Base Operator, Car Rental, Food Service, Maintenance and Airport Authority Positions. Average hourly wages for this group is estimated at $18. These jobs would have an annual direct salary impact totaling nearly $1,010,880 in the community. The state of Florida will recieve estimated FDOT transportation fund taxes of $145,000 from incremental first year fuel sales. In addition, this project will help support the State of Florida's desire to maintain the NASA Space Program in the state as the premier gateway to space. The Space Coast Regional Airport will serve as a transportation center for SERPL and Space Commerce Park currently under construction.
