This one-time request would be used to eliminate the Skyview Wastewater System and connect customers to the City of Lakeland wastewater system. The Skyview Wastewater System is a small private utility serving a low-income area that has been abandoned and is in receivership under control of the Court system. Polk County has been appointed temporary receiver by the courts. The system currently is not permitted and eventually discharges to Saddle Creek and Lake Hancock, one of Florida's most polluted lakes. |
