Project Description:

The Belz Intermodal station will provide for connectivity between multiple service modes and service providers, more efficient transit scheduling, safe and attractive passenger facilities while mitigation congestion along Internation Drive and adjacent I-4 corridor.  With the realization of the Belz Intermodal Station, LYNX will be able to channel numberous services into the facility.  The Station will be attractive to customers as a convenient and safe place to transfer while providing a location where up to eight buses can converge at one time, facilitation consolidation of trips to known activity centers and places of employment.  The ability to merge these trips while redirecting routes to less congested roadways will improve the capacity to I-Drive, mitigate congestion on I4 and shorten the customer's trip.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

More efficient and direct transit service between major regional activity centers. Improved connectivity to the regional transit network for the I-Drive Circulator and I-Ride Trolley.  Access to future regional high capacity transit service.  Improves commuter choice options by co-location of bus, car, bicycle, van pool, parking, I-Drive circulator, and I-Ride trolley.  Improves efficiency via consolidation of non-local trips onto cross-town service thus elimination the "local" character of the trip through I-Drive.  Serves as a regional hub to consolidate regional trips and local trips to realize efficiencies of scale.  Increased tax base by increasing person-trip capacity on surrounding roadways thus supporting additional commercial development.
