The Lake Region Water Treatment Plant is a proposed regional 10 million gallon per day reverse osmosis treatment plant that will be designated to replace the three aging surface water treatment plants owned by Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay. Using reverse osmosis treatment of the brackish Floridaian Aquifer instead of Lake Okeechobee water will free up water for restoration of the Everglades ecosystem. |
