Statewide Interest:
Family Resource Center, a United Way partner, serves low to moderate income families by providing a resource library for parenting, interviewing and job attainment skills, classroom areas, clothes closet and emergency family supplies. After school program of Citrus County provides a center for children and teens to study after school, use computers and work with mentors. Early Headstart, a federally funded program serves children from 3 months to age 3, teaches their families how to introduce pre-literacy skills and give them proper care. Citrus County 4H works with kids on agriculture programs. Friends of the Library support book and media purchases for all the libraries in the county. The community center, resource library and museum exhibit hall would provide much needed services to the community with arts programs, after school study programs, exhibits, cultural events and much needed revenue.

Project Description:
To create a permanent and centralized location for the community to access services from non-profits and a community center with an auditorium, resource library, meeting rooms and an oral history museum/exhibit hall.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The non-profits will service low and medium income families and seniors at the following levels: Family Resource Center - 2000 during the year and 1,200 children at Christmas; Early Head Start - 25 families per year; Friends of the Library - 6 libraries per year; After School Program of Citrus County - new, no data; 4H - 20 families. The museum/exhibit hall and the community center consisting of the auditorium, library and computer resource center should service up to 30,000 visitors per year.
