The City of Bristol is the county seat for Liberty County and is located on a bluff on the east bank of the Apalachicola River. This town is the only incorporated area in the county and currently has no centralized wastewater collection and treatment system. All sewage is treated by on-site sewage disposal system (septic tanks). The local health department has estimated that approximately 30 of these septic systems fail each year. The purpose of this project is to provide safe, reliable collection and treatment of sewage for the protection of the public health and welfare. |
