Project Description:
The Homestead Nursery School, located at the FRC Adler Support Center, provides services to parents and children. With our program designed primarily to serve low-income families, we provide a two generational approach project that offers these families educational services for children to promote their cognitive development, while activites are provided to parents that support both their parenting (which supports child development) and also to encourage their own development and learning.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
To continue to provide and increase services that promote positive self-concepts while building healthy relationships to prevent child abuse and neglect through family support, crisis intervention, parent educaiton and counseling to children, ages newborn through five yaes old. The Homestead Nursery currently serving at least 75 children and families annually. The nursery is also striving to become a Gold Seal Certified Day care center, a certification requirement of the State of Florida. Recently, Homestead Nursery received a rating of 99% from CDS, indicating our excellent compliance with their requirements.
