The Vietnam Veterans Chapter 566 is a non-profit organization as described in FS 216.052(1).  the organization has a planned project that will benefit the citizens of the State of Florida.  The project is a Memorial Granite Wall dedicated to those Florida citizens that were in the military that gave the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for their county in the Vietnam War.  It will benefit the citizens of Florida by having a Memorial Wall that is located in this state so that persons who wish to visit a memorial sight do not have to travel to Washington, D.C. to pay their respects to their family member or friend.  It will allow those that can not go to Washington a chance to heal and maybe have closure of the first time.  It will memorialize those citizens from this state that gave the supreme sacrifice.

Project Description:

A Memorial Wall engraved with the names of those persons from the State of Florida who gave their lives during the Vietnam War

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The project is a Memorial Granite Wall dedicated to those Florida citizens that were in the military that gave the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for their country in the Vietnam War.  This Memorial Wall will be a mirror image of the one in Washington, D.C., made of the same type granite and engraved in a similar manner depicting the names of persons who gave thier lives.  The Wall is shaped in a Vee style and has approximately six panels.  See attached brochure.  There is a bronze soldier standing in front of the Wall saluting.  The Wall will be located in Veterans Memorial Park, Midport Road, Port St. Lucie, Florida.  The measurable outcome of this project is hard to establish.  We can only hope that it will probably memorialize the hero's of Florida who gave the supreme sacrifice.  We can only hope that it would be a place of hallowed honor that people can come to and honor their families and friends.
