| Project Description: | |||||||||
| The purpose of this project is for improvement of the section of NW/SW Capital Circle from Springhill Road (CR 2203) to I-10. This will provide a much needed intermodal connector between the Tallahassee Regional Airport and the major limited accesss highways in the southern United States (I-10). | |||||||||
| Is this a water project as described in Chapter 2002-291, Laws of Florida? | No | ||||||||
| Measurable Outcome Anticipated: | |||||||||
| At this time limited intermodal connections exist in this region. Connections are made to I-10 using urban arterials which generall impede freight movement given the amount of local traffic dependent on Capital Circle NW/SW for local area traffic movements. Plans for expansion of the Tallahassee Regional Airport will increase its viability as an intermodal facility. Additional capacity to this most direct connector to I-10 is necessary to insure successful and competitive economic development in the region that serves north Florida and southern Alabama and Georgia. | |||||||||
