Project Description:
This project provides mental health services and housing for non-violent offenders referred by the Mental Health Court and for homeless (mentally ill) in the county. In addition, follow-up services and hosuing or links to alternative housing after treatment are provided.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This project provides to the state a source to send non-violent, mentally ill offenders out of the jail/prison setting by placing them into a treatment setting. This provides substance abuse, competency restoration, family involvement and education, and other such services to the non-violent, mentally ill.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
This project anticipates increased time in the community to 27 days per month. Also expected is a reduction in the arrest rate for the target population to 10% of the population per month. 75% of the population is expected to achieve a substance abuse-free lifestyle, measured on a monthly basis.
