Beginning in fiscal year 2022-2023 through fiscal year 2023-2024, the department and the Department of Juvenile Justice shall identify children who are dually involved with both systems of care. The department and the Department of Juvenile Justice shall collaboratively take appropriate action within available resources to meet the needs of dually-involved children more effectively, and shall jointly submit to the Legislature a quarterly report that includes, at a minimum:(1) Data on the number of children who are dually involved with both systems of care. Such children include, but are not limited to, those who are the subject of any proceeding under this chapter and, at the same time, are under the supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice under chapter 985, and those children who were previously served by either the department or the Department of Juvenile Justice and come to the attention of either agency after being served.
(2) Data on the number of children who are placed in licensed care after leaving the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
(3) Information on how both departments track children who are or become dually involved.
(4) A summary of the actions taken by both departments to better serve dually-involved children.
